Nitrous oxide, commonly known as “happy gas,” is a safe and effective form of conscious sedation used to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable during dental treatment. It is administered through a small nasal mask and works quickly to reduce anxiety, fear, and discomfort while allowing patients to remain awake and responsive throughout the procedure.  

The effects begin within minutes and wear off rapidly once the gas is stopped, allowing most patients to return to their normal activities shortly after treatment. Nitrous oxide is an excellent option for anxious patients, children, those with a sensitive gag reflex, or individuals who have difficulty undergoing dental procedures due to fear or stress.
